I believe faith is a gift and even the strength of faith is a gift. I also think prayer should be the first call of action.
You can pray that God sends you His Holy Spirit first. This is an example of what you could say:
Lord, pour your Holy Spirit into my heart and fill me up with your glory so that my prayers may be heard. In Jesus name. Amen
Pray this prayer by faith. This means you don’t have to believe what you are saying. But bringing yourself to say this prayer means you had enough belief to expect and hope that your God may be merciful and grant you what you asked for.
Secondly, you can pray for faith. This is an example of what you could say:
God, I am willing to believe in you as three (parts); the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in One Holy God. Please, Lord, help my unwillingness.
God, I already believe, to the point where I’m sitting here and praying, so please help my unbelief.
This is because you have believed enough to make you want to have faith and pray. And because you are willing, God will count this as righteousness.
God please open my eyes and make the scales fall off, as you did with Saul (St Paul) so that the truth might be revealed to me.
God reveal yourself and truth to me so that I may be saved. In Jesus name. Amen
God, instil your love in my heart so that I may love you, and by loving you, I may discover your true nature and the extent of your love to me and to the world.
The third step is to rest. Now, you have done what you had to do. You have bowed the knee and confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour. You have asked for faith, or a deeper faith, and more revelations on the nature of God and of Jesus Christ.
You might have asked that God opens your eyes and make the scales fall off so that the truth might be revealed to you.
And resting here does not mean you stop praying. Resting means to allow peace to fill your heart. You need to stop being frightened and to stop trying internally to make yourself believe. You also need to stop feeling guilty for having doubts. Stop beating yourself up and instead try to beat the doubts down.
Now, the way to beat doubts down is not to feel guilty and remorseful. To change the dynamics of your thoughts and the system controlling your mind you will need to become a master of knowing your self.
Indeed, there is a spirit of doubt; which is called the anti-Christ, Jezebel and Leviathan.
Jesus said in 1 John 2: “18 Children, it is the last hour [the end of this age]; and just as you heard that the antichrist is coming [the one who will oppose Christ and attempt to replace Him], even now many antichrists (false teachers) have appeared, which confirms our belief that it is the last hour.” These false teachers were false because the spirit of the antichrist had successfully comprised their internal spiritual territories and used them to try to corrupt the Kingdom from within.
Jezebel is described by some to be “the nastiest, evil, most disgusting, cunning, and seductive spirit in Satan’s hierarchy … there are many spirits that would be considered a Jezebel type spirit, as they all have a particular type of personality and a specific way in which they like to operate.”
Leviathan, as well, is the head of a nation. He rules over a multitude of spirits that affect the personality of the host and stand in the way of his/her salvation.
These are mighty kings and heads of nations. They creep into the realm of our souls to take residence and influence our system of thinking, feeling, and decision making.
These powerful spiritual beings, when transcending into our physical reality, translate themselves into neuron networks in our brains.
Try to imagine the realm of your soul as an earthly realm where various spirits are residing. Some of these spirits are good and godly. These come from the small seed of faith that was planted into your heart. This seed has already bred Holy offsprings. But they’re still a few and under threat. This small nation is what gives you the will to surrender to God and to have faith.
However, the majority of the ‘residents’ of your soul are ungodly beasts. These spirits already sense that they’re in danger and will stop at nothing to hunt the seeds of righteousness down before they take root and become mighty in the land.
When these nasty spirits are active, they will impact your reasoning. They will cause you to doubt the scripture though it would feel as though you’re responsible for this way of thinking. And in a way it is true, but only to a certain extent. It’s true that these spirits dwell in you, so it is partly you in the same way that our planet earth is partly us; the human race. However, you are made up of much more than that. Don’t forget that you are now also the host of the Holy seed of Israel, which is the seed that God has planted into your soul.
The solution against the fear and guilt you are experiencing is to learn to dissociate yourself from your inner thoughts.
When you experience doubts, instead of immediately accuse yourself, learn to look inwardly. Using your mind’s eye, look at these thoughts for what they are.
When you do, don’t stay silent. Start accusing the spirits responsible for your doubts by praying. against them. These are examples of prayers you could say in that situation:
God, I’m still not a hundred per cent the master of my mind. I give you my mind, my reasoning and my soul to work in them and make whatever changes necessary to bring me to absolute faith in you.
Please, Lord, take my doubts away. I don’t want them. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
My Father, please come with your righteous Right Hand (Jesus) to pluck out these unholy spirits that are trying to control me and to get the better of me.
Please Lord, rid me of these unholy spirits.
Lord, cleanse my realm from all impurities.
Lord avenge me and kill and destroy all these unholy nasty spirits that are tormenting me.
Jesus, mighty warrior, please kill and destroy all who do not want to submit to you, within the realm of my soul.
God, I open myself to you. Search me. Cleanse me.
Heavenly Father I submit the Holy Seed that you planted in me into your hand. Please, Lord, prosper the remnant within me.
Lord bless the remnant of my soul. Bless all those who fear you. Bless all those who love your name and submit to your power.
Lord, establish Zion within me and grow me in faith, love and righteousness.
In Jesus precious name, Amen
So, to beat up doubt, you need to stop feeling guilty and start praying in the spirit.
Do not let anyone from the faith or outside of the faith make you doubt the existence of these spirits within your soul. For in doubting their existence, you’re allowing them to rule you.
Some Christians think that when the person is saved, evil spirits exit immediately after, because according to this theory, the human soul can’t be the domain of the Holy Spirit and of other evil spirits at the same time.
This teaching is unbiblical and has no sound foundation except pride and arrogance.
Your soul is a very big realm; as big as this tangible universe you see and indeed can be home to the Holy Spirit and to other evil spirits at the same time.
Jesus said in Luke 17 “20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say,‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
And He also said in John 14: “10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.”
So, if the Father himself, with all his glory, and the extent of his being (being all there is,) can dwell inside Jesus Christ, then there is also, within the soul of an ordinary man, a wide realm of existence that reaches to infinity.
For how can the Holy Spirit be part of this world we see, while evil is ruling at the same time? So, in the same way that the Holy Spirit walks on earth which is a domain for other spirits (evil and not evil), your soul also has the Holy Spirit and other spirits within it.
The fruit of these evil spirits in the Church (and all religious organisations) has long been witnessed in the past and the present throughout the world.
Wiping away the existence of the evil spirits from within is a work in process for some of those who embraced humility and who thirst and hunger for righteousness.
If this understanding of the nature of your soul did not help you to overcome your fear, then start praying for peace.
Lord, please grant me peace in my soul so that I may triumph over fear.
Please, help me to surrender to your will and not to feel so anxious.
Jesus, bind the spirit of fear within me and cast it to the lake of fire so that it may never return to run my life again.
Heavenly Father, please pour your love in my heart for your Word says that “18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear…”
In Jesus name, Amen
Another approach to become perfected in faith is to become a master of prayer. Pray for every little thing in your soul that it may be hindering your walk with God. Pray against unrighteousness. Pray that the Lord takes away your sins. If you have any addictions or other negative strongholds in your life, pray against them in the Spirit. These things are not from God, yet you are made by God. So, these things cannot be from you. They are like parasites that settle on the animal skin to feed on it or even a better example, nasty bacteria that creeps from the outside world to our internal organs to take residence and thrive. Scientific research nowadays established that such bacteria can have an impact on its environment. It is intelligent enough to gradually alter the environment of our internal body for its benefit. This is why we know it’s a nasty bacteria, because of its harmful impact on the body. Evil spirits have a similar impact on the soul with worse consequences as we do not have antibiotics to rid us of them. The only antibiotics you have for evil spirits are awareness and prayer.
Rest assured that God is not seeking your destruction. He is more eager than you to save you from yourself and restore you to him.
God said in Ezekiel 18:23 (NKJV) 23 “Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?” Please make sure you do not feel vexed by the word “wicked”. This description is not aimed at you in person. All humanity is wicked until they disown sin and surrender it to God to deal with.
When you surrender to God’s will and stop being anxious, and when you trust that our God is fair, loving and just, then peace will come over you and you’ll stop panicking and trying too hard.
