Bible Verses about Foolishness

Isaiah 39

3Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah, and said to him, “What did these men say? And from where did they come to you?” Hezekiah said, “They have come to me from a far country, from Babylon.” 4He said, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing in my storehouses that I did not show them.”

5Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the LORD of hosts: 6Behold, the days are coming, when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up till this day, shall be carried to Babylon. Nothing shall be left, says the LORD. 7And some of your own sons, who will come from you, whom you will father, shall be taken away, and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”

Prosperity is in His Hands

I never prayed for prosperity before. But when I realised that the blessings of God whether spiritual or physical are one and the same and that I was being robbed of my inheritance daily, I prayed in righteous anger and this is what happened.

I travelled all the way to the city for the 20th time this summer to do an interpretation job that only lasts an hour. The agency would not pay me my fare or travel time, and the hourly rate is not that great. But, at least it was something, I thought to my self.

When I arrived at the workplace, I waited for about five minutes before the clients showed up.

They happened to forget some important paper and so after they arrived, one of them had to go back to bring it. This delayed the process for some time.

Then there was an unexpected interview which also took longer than expected.

Finally, the examination became somehow complicated and I needed to call for an extension.

Instead of an hour, my job became three hours and 20 minutes. This I give the glory for, to God who answered my prayer. So, glory be to God in the highest.

“ 21For the sake of your word and according to your will, you have done this great thing and made it known to your servant. 22“How great you are, Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.”  2 Samuel 7
